Salary range: $60,000 to $80,000 per annum
Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate the entire operation of the restaurant to efficiently cover the restaurant operating hours.
- Organise and plan special functions as per customer requests.
- Work closely with kitchen and waiting staff to greet guests, take orders and reservations.
- Ensure dining facilities are clean, functional and of suitable appearance.
- Recruiting, training and motivating staff.
- Providing staff with performance evaluation and feedback.
- Handling customer enquiries and complaints and ensure customers are satisfied with their meals.
- Controlling costs and minimizing waste.
- Maintaining the regulated standards of quality control, hygiene and health and safety in all parts of the restaurant.
- Ensuring all staff are trained in health and safety standards.
- Managing the marketing activities, such as promotional events and discount schemes.
- Discuss and plan menu changes with Chef.
- Stock and inventory management including overseeing of stock levels and ordering supplies when needed.
- Recording all financial transactions for the restaurant.
- Work closely with kitchen and waiting staff to greet guests, take orders and reservations.
Requirements and skills
- Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience.
- Demonstrated experience in staff supervision and rostering.
- Proven organisational and time management skills.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Good computer skills and working knowledge of MS Suite.
- Flexible to work a variety of shifts – early/late shifts & weekend work.
- Experience in coordinating activities with other departments.
- Experience in Managing team members and grievance resolution. Sound knowledge of OH&S regulations and implementation experience.
