Chef

This established and well respected winery in the Coonawarra is seeking a professional (full-time) Chef to complement their existing team. 

Salary range: $26-$35 p/h

The successful candidate will deploy culinary and managerial skills in order to play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing our customers’ satisfaction and experiences.

 Responsibilities

  • Assist preparation and design of all food and drinks menus
  • Produce high quality plates both design and taste wise
  • Ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely way that meets our quality standards
  • Resourcefully solve any issues that arise and seize control of any problematic situation
  • Order supplies and stock inventory appropriately
  • Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with co-workers and customers

Requirements and skills

  • Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
  • Excellent record of kitchen management
  • Accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions
  • Familiar with industry’s best practices
  • Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, online portal/platforms for suppliers)

The Fine Print

  • A minimum of 76 hours per fortnight. 
  • Weekend and overtime work as per roster advised monthly. All overtime will be paid as per restaurant industry award
  • Leave entitlements as per award 

This position is available for those who are able to obtain their own independent Australian skilled migration visa.
