Salary range: $70,000 to $80,000 per annum
A comprehensive architectural design, project management and construction business specialising in bespoke commercial, multifaceted development and high-end residential projects is looking for an architectural draftsperson. This company manages their projects from concept to completion covering all aspects from feasibility, design and planning, through to turnkey construction.
This role will suit someone who enjoys working on a diverse range of projects, has a strong passion for detailed design, is self-motivated and highly collaborative, all whilst working in a fun and positive team environment.
The Role
Reporting to the lead designer, you will work closely with our architectural design team to assist in executing our design projects from concept to completion. Responsibilities include:
- All stages of drafting work including concept plans through to working drawings.
- Liaise with Consultants during the preparation of detailed documentation
- Undertaking site measures
- Taking initiative to solve problems and propose solutions where applicable
- Coordinating with the design, construction and estimating teams to ensure design intent is applied to all stages
- Liaising with the lead designer throughout projects to ensure all regulatory requirements are met
Skills and Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in residential and commercial drafting
- Tertiary qualifications in building design, architecture or equivalent.
- Sound technical knowledge of the Building Code of Australia and Australian Standards.
- Proficient in the use of AutoCAD (essential) with Sketchup experience looked upon favourably.
- Excellent documentation skills and understanding of construction methodologies .
