Field Service Technician (Fitter)

Salary range: $80,000 to $100,000 per annum

First incorporated as a company in 1981 and shortly after this time the new head office complex in Adelaide (South Australia) was built. Since then the company has expanded considerably with offices throughout the country. The company sells and supports and range of mobile and crawler cranes, offshore cranes, tower cranes, deep foundation machines, earthmoving and mining equipment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide diagnostic, maintenance and component replacement services; including but not limited to:
    • Inspect plant and equipment for conformity with established standards.
    • Request required spare parts.
    • Operate workshop equipment including mobile lifting equipment.
    • Diagnose faults, repair, maintain and overhaul mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components.
    • Diagnose and rectify minor electrical faults.
    • Repair damaged or faulty parts by machining & welding or fabricating new parts.
    • Lubricate plants and equipment
    • Running adjustments to mechanical equipment.
  • Active involvement in the continuous improvement of the Product Support process.
  • Maintain effective relationships with customers.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Accurate completion of documentation including timesheets, maintenance requests and any customer/site specific documentation required.
  • Provide on-the-job training as required.
  • Individual health and safety performance and behaviour and that your acts or omissions do not adversely affect the health and safety of others.
  • Alerting the organisation of potential or known problems that affect the quality of products and services.
  • Initiate recommendations for improvement of the organisation’s policies and processes.

Essentials:

  • Hold a relevant trade qualification in mechanical or auto electrical with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
  • Excellent diagnostic and computer skills
  • A current driver’s license
  • Able to communicate effectively with customers, supervisors, and colleagues
  • Willingness to work overtime when required
